Bornholm Mustard

Although established as recently as 2007, this Bornholm mustard factory still bases its production on longstanding experience in making high-quality mustard.

Mustard from Den Bornholmske Sennepsfabrik ApS is produced using select mustard seeds cultivated on the island os Bornholm. Other local ingredients – such as Lehnsgaard’s rapeseed oil and Svaneke Bryghus beer – are used wherever this is practically feasible.

This classic, semi-liquid Bornholm mustard is made just the way the people of Bornholm have liked it for generations: medium hot, yet with a slightly sweet flavour.

Many varieties are available, such as Kofoed’s Mustard (4 varieties), Lehnsgaard Mustard (5 vaieties) and “granddad’s frankfurter mustard” (Morfars Pølsesennep). The latter variety is a Bornholm version of classic Danish table mustard.

A special variety – also exported to many countries – is dill mustard, a popular condiment for smoked fish and gravlax.
